Denise O. Mullinix, DDS
Dr. Mullinix was born and raised in St. Mary’s County and is an alumnus of St. Mary’s Ryken High School. She completed her undergraduate degree cum laude in biology from Towson University and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Mullinix then returned to St. Mary’s County, where she continues to practice family dentistry. She has a passion for treating each patient like family and always takes time with each patient to ensure the entire dental experience is positive and enjoyable. She is a member of the American Dental Association®, Maryland State Dental Association and Patuxent Dental Society.
Dr. Mullinix and her husband, Matt, reside in Lexington Park with their two daughters, and they spend as much time as possible out on the water with family and friends.
Jenny O. Hawkins, DDS
Dr. Hawkins was born and raised in St. Mary’s County and is a graduate of St. Mary’s Ryken High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Towson University and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Hawkins has a heart to serve others, believes in treating her patients with compassion and respect, and is dedicated to providing dental care that promotes optimal oral health and a healthy smile. She is a member of the American Dental Association®, Maryland State Dental Association and Patuxent Dental Society.
Dr. Jenny Hawkins is married to Michael Hawkins, and they have three children, Reagan, Jace (JJ) and Bryce. They live in the Lexington Park area, where they enjoy spending time outdoors with their family and friends.

Ashley earned her dental hygiene degree from Allegany College of Maryland and joined the Pax Dental team in 2011. She is married with three beautiful children and loves spending time on the water with friends and family. As a native of St. Mary’s County, Ashley is excited to have the opportunity to provide quality dental care to her community. She brings a positive attitude to the team, and you will always see her smiling.
Melissa was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from dental hygiene school at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in 2012, she moved to St. Mary’s County to be closer to her now husband, David. David and Melissa have a son and a daughter. When she is not at work, Melissa enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending quality time with family. Melissa’s focus is providing high-quality care to her patients and educating them on how to maintain good oral health. She is committed to making each hygiene appointment a comfortable and positive experience.
Heather is originally from Central Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in hygiene in 2016. She enjoys spending her free time with family, watching sports and being out on the water. She has lived in Southern Maryland since 2019 and looks forward to meeting many new people. Her passion and hope are that all patients leave with happy and healthy smiles.
With the exception of three years away at college, Ashleigh has lived in Southern Maryland her whole life. She graduated from Allegany College of Maryland in 2004 with an AAS in dental hygiene. Ashleigh is married with three children, and together, their family enjoys spending time at their cabin in West Virginia. Ashleigh is excited to be a part of a great group of dental professionals that provide excellent care in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Amy graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2008. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in dental hygiene. Since graduating, she has continued her education to obtain licensing to administer anesthesia and monitor nitrous oxide. She has been happily married to her husband, Brian, since 2011, and they have three beautiful daughters. Her family loves to be outdoors as much as possible, especially if it is on the water or working together on any one of their numerous hobbies! Amy is a native of St. Mary’s County and has been providing excellent patient care to the community for years. She is excited for the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience with our patients!
Emilia has lived here since 2001. She was born and raised in Brazil and graduated with her Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) from the Lutheran University of Brazil in 1994 and practiced dentistry for four years before moving to the United States. Emilia has a passion to educate and help patients achieve and maintain oral health. Making patients smile and improve their lifestyle and well-being has always been her goal. Her other passions include nature, traveling, hiking, cooking, walking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
Brooke began her career in the dental field during high school and is currently in the process of pursuing her dental hygiene degree. Her favorite part about working at Pax Dental is helping patients feel safe and comfortable, educating and encouraging patients through their entire dental visits. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her younger sister and nephews. Brooke is very friendly and always willing to help out to assure each patient has a positive experience.
Originally from Tennessee, the Navy brought Erika and her husband to southern Maryland in 2018. Erika graduated from Remington College in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2012. She has experience working in oral surgery and general dentistry and has certifications in Tennessee, Florida and Maryland. Erika is married and has two mini Schnauzers. When she is not at the office, she enjoys fitness, traveling and being out on the water.
Roxanne, or Roxie as her peers call her, has been a dental assistant since 2008. She was born and raised in the Philippines but moved to the U.S. in 2005. In 2007, she went to CSM Dental Assisting School. She began her assisting career in San Diego, California, where she lived for three years. She now resides in Maryland, married for four years to Ryan, and together, they have a beautiful son. Her great passion is to provide care and make sure that her patients are comfortable.
Claudia moved to Southern Maryland in 2003. She graduated from the Red Cross Dental Program on base in 2005. Since then, she has had the honor of being an expanded functions dental assistant for over 10 years. The most fulfilling part of her job is helping her patients have pleasant experiences where they can rest assured that they are receiving the utmost care during each and every visit. Claudia feels that dentistry is truly life-changing for many patients, and she is glad to be a part of it. In her spare time, Claudia loves to cook, travel and learn different cultures as well as languages. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. Spending time and traveling with her husband and two children are the most rewarding things in her life.
Kayla is a native of St Mary’s County. Her passion for dental care all began in her sophomore year of high school. Kayla applied at the James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center in 2007 and was accepted, and the rest is history! Kayla believes that the dental office should not be a place of fear and strives to go above and beyond for all her patients, making sure their time in the dental chair is comfortable, relaxing and an educational experience. When she is not at work, she can be found spending time with her family. Watching her daughter, Olivia, grow is her greatest joy in life!
Kelly spent most of her life in California until she and her family relocated to southern Maryland in 2005. She has spent over 20 years working in the front office, including insurance and billing aspects, of both medical and dental offices. She is a graduate of Rick’s College (BYU-Idaho). Without question, Kelly’s passion is people. Kelly has been with Pax Dental since 2009, and she loves that every day is different. She also appreciates the opportunity to work with great talent and help patients feel comfortable about their experiences in our office.
Veronica is a native to Calvert County, Maryland, who enjoys Redskins football and large family gatherings. Her favorite thing to do is vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with her husband and four children. She joined our team in January 2018 as patient care coordinator and came to us with a background in the medical field, but she is excited to begin a new career in the dental field. She enjoys working with a family-oriented office that provides genuine concern and care to each and every patient. Veronica looks forward to greeting you with a friendly hello and smile when you enter our doors.
Raised in a military Air Force family, Megan has lived many places in the U.S. but mostly in California. She moved to southern Maryland in 2012. She became part of the Pax Dental team in 2020, building on her previous dental experience before joining us. Megan loves to help people and enjoys working with a practice that gives patients the best care possible. She looks forward to greeting you with a smile as you enter Pax Dental! She is a graduate of the College of Southern Maryland. When she is away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her husband.
Mary started at Pax Dental in 2020 but has lived in St. Mary’s County her entire life. She loves the water views and can be seen relaxing nearby in her spare time. She enjoys spending time with friends and family for get-togethers. She is a graduate of King’s Christian Academy and is pursuing a degree in early childhood education in hopes of becoming a teacher. She is the youngest of three children. Mary is very kind and always willing to go that “extra mile” for you, and she will always greet you with a smile when you enter our doors.
